Pita bread is easy to make and you can use it in many ways. I make pita bread every time I want to make falafel. I always make more for many ways to use. You can make pizza, you can make pita chips and eat with tahini hummus, you can eat with soups, make sandwiches and sometimes you don’t feel like making roti to eat with your dal , rice and vegetables, you can eat pita bread instead. I always keep extra in my freezer, so let’s start making pita bread.
Two cups bread flour
One cup whole wheat flour
Two tsp or less salt
One tsp sugar
One pk yeast
Two cups warm water
Two tablespoons olive oil
Prepare the dough.
In a large bowl mix both flours
Add salt, sugar, oil and yeast
Mix it well add warm water, make a dough not hard and not to soft, make a ball cover it tight.Let it rest for a hour in warm place and after one hour dough should be fluffy. Knead and cover it then rest another hour. The dough should be ready by now. Make a small balls cover it let them rest for few minutes.
Roll all the dough balls in to small circle.
Preheat the oven at 400
Bake two at a time using baking sheet.
Bake each side for about five minutes.
Your hot and fluffy pita bread should be ready to enjoy.
