Chorafali is also known as cholafali or fafda.
It’s well known in state of Gujarat in India, specially in Ahmedabad. Chorafali is crispy, spicy and tasty snack we make in Diwali time. Today I decide to make something Diwali special.
1 cup chickpeas flour
1/2 cup Adad flour
2 tablespoons rice flour
2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp baking soda or papadkhar.
1 tsp black salt or sanchar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tablespoons oil
Let’s prepare water
In a small pot , add water, baking soda, salt and oil.
On low heat bring it to boil, turn off the heat.
In a bowl
Mix all three flour.
Start adding water you prepare, little bit at a time that way you avoid over watering.
Make stiff dough.
Roll it in a log shape on rolling board.
Cut it in a small pieces.
Roll it on a rolling board, make a thin roti using rolling pin. Make all the roti at once, cut it in half and every half roti , make few cuts to make strips.
Once you finish cutting roti in to strips, mix red chilli power and black salt or sanchar in small bowl.
In a heavy bottom pan, add oil to fry .
When oil is ready and hot , add one half of roti and fry both side. When it’s done it should look golden brown, fluffy and crispy.
Take it out on a paper towel to get rid of excess oil and sprinkle the red chili powder mix immediately on both sides.
Let it cool down completely .
Store it in a air tight container.
Your chorafali fafda is ready to enjoy.
